Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度は、昨年度発表した火星の化学組成モデルに基づき、太陽系天体の起源に関して比較惑星学的観点から検討を行った。特に、(1) 地球型惑星における中揮発性元素量の枯渇の起源、(2) 地球型惑星と小惑星の化学的関係、(3) 地球や月の形成過程、の 3 課題に重点的に取り組んだ。その結果として、(1) 地球型惑星の中揮発性元素量は、天体集積後の元素蒸発ではなく、星雲ガスからの固体の凝縮過程に由来すること、(2) より大きな天体ほど、コンドリュールのような粒径が大きく揮発性に乏しい物質を選択的に取り込んだこと、(3) 地球の月の形成に寄与した巨大衝突天体は、サイズのみならず、化学組成も火星に類似していた可能性があることを明らかにした。これらの成果は、これまで不明な点が多く残されていた、地球型惑星の形成進化史に新たな制約をもたらすものである。本研究により得られた宇宙・地球化学的示唆を、今後の理論的研究や天体探査・観測に基づき精査することで、太陽系内外の地球型惑星の形成論に更なる知見が得られると期待される。上記の成果は国際誌にて公表済みである。
