| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This is a study of modulations used in Chinese and Japanese classical music. The way of modulation of the Chinese“Fandiao” （犯調） described in Zhang-yan(張炎)'s Ci-yuan(詞源) has not been successfully revealed and no one could explain why the tonality “Yu”(羽) modulates to the tonality “Jue”(角) just in the way which described in “Lvlv Sifan”(Four kinds of Fandiao律呂四犯) by Zhang-yan. In this study, the actual way to modulate from “Yu” to “Jue”(羽犯角) was deciphered.
“Han-on” or “Han-non”(反音 or 返音) is a classical modulation system used in Japanese “Gagaku”(雅楽) and Buddhist Music. Sancho Hiyo-sho(山鳥秘要抄) is a musical theory book written by Abe-no Sueharu(安倍季良). Theories of “Han-on” are included in it. There only are manuscripts of Sancho Hiyo-sho in Edo(江戸) era, therefore in this study, textual criticism and reprinting are made, and many annotations are added for the text.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
中国の「犯調」や日本の「反音（返音）」というの転調法には、いまだその解明されていない部分が残っている。本研究により張炎『詞源』の「犯調」の内「律呂四犯」と呼ばれる転調の一覧表の持つ意味合いを解明することができた。これは南宋当時の文人歌曲に用いられた転調の実態を明らかにする上で大きな意義を有する。
また江戸末期における雅楽理論の中心的存在である安倍季良の『山鳥秘要抄』は、原本が非公開であることもあってその本文は従来詳細に研究されていなかった。本研究で作成した『山鳥秘要抄』写本の全篇にわたる翻刻・校勘、および詳細な注釈は、この分野の今後の研究の基礎資料となるものと信ずる。
