Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has not so much been applied to Japanese archaeological finds. The researcher attempted analyses of archaeological pottery and glass objects using the technique. Its merits such as the speed of analysis and the sensitivity of light elements were confirmed. On the other hand, the surface conditions or matrix of the objects cause some problems with quantification. To our regret, finding of borosilicate glass from excavated glass objects was not accomplished.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
