Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This is the research project on British publicity policy towards Asia during the early cold war, particularly focusing on the activity of the Foreign Office Information Research Department (IRD). The research on the IRD itself has been recently progressed but its policy towards Asia has not been done sufficiently. This research project tried to explore it, using the unpublished documents newly disclosed in the National Archives, UK. Eight articles relating to this project have been published and their targets include the British publicity policy towards Malaya, Burma, India and Japan under the Allied occupation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
