Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study investigates and analyzes how motorcycle suppliers reorganize their international production systems. As a result of the research, the following three points revealed: (1) global competition among motorcycle manufacturers have been changing dramatically since around 2000, (2) thereby, suppliers have had to reorganize their international production systems in dealing with three levels of uncertainty, (3) suppliers have been trying to achieve their optimal international production systems through coordinating the roles of their overseas production bases, and some suppliers have developed organizational mechanisms for adapting their international production systems to three levels of uncertainty.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究では完成車メーカーと部品サプライヤーを綜合した視点から,国際生産分業の編成・再編成を捉えるフレームワークを示し,不確実性の重層構造が生じるメカニズムを明確化した。従来の研究では,国際生産分業を編成替えする際の問題に対して,それほど関心が払われてこなかった。さらに,部品サプライヤーが主体として取り上げられることは少なかった。本研究により,完成車メーカー,部品サプライヤーそれぞれの位置に即して国際生産分業の編成替えに際する困難とその解決の方向性を検討できるようになった。同時に,本研究の成果は,不確実性の重層構造に直面している部品サプライヤーに実務面での有益な示唆を与えると考えている。
