Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aims to find the uniqueness of Budo in order to teach common movements (ways of movement and principles of movement) and ways of thinking in Budo, rather than simply teaching judo, kendo, sumo, karate, and naginata as individual sports in the Budo area of health and physical education, which has become a fully compulsory subject in junior high school. One of these is manners and etiquette, but there are not many that show the commonality and uniqueness of movements. Therefore, we focused on the "Goshin" that Budo "kata" have, developed teaching materials, and verified their effectiveness through practical lessons at Ikeda Junior High School attached to Osaka Kyoiku University. Budo are centered on defense rather than attack, that is, "Goshin," but this way of thinking is also related to "school safety," so we developed a program that combines "Budo" and "safety education" and examined its relevance to "safety studies."
