Outline of Final Research Achievements

In order to study activities for dementia prevention among residents living in a geographically disadvantaged slope urban area in the Corona Disaster, an interview survey of community welfare committee members and a questionnaire survey of local residents were conducted. The interview survey revealed that the community welfare committee members created an information notebook and an emergency contact network to grasp the residents' situation, enabling them to connect with administrative agencies at an early stage. From the questionnaire survey, the number of social activities and outings decreased compared to those before the infectious disease epidemic, but interest in health increased, and residents engaged in preventive activities appropriate to their situation, such as walking, stretching, yoga, knitting, transcribing Tenseijingo, volunteering, and participating in salons and exercise classes, to prevent muscle weakness and dementia.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
