Outline of Annual Research Achievements

原始地球最初の有機物の起源を宇宙に見出すため、分子雲の中に観測される大型有機物の吸収線の同定を目指している。その同定には、分子雲の中の有機物を実験室で放電により人工的に生成すること、そしてそれらを可視光領域で精密に測定をすることが必須である。そこで、それら有機物を放電を用いたスペースシミュレーターで生成し、広帯域・高分解能のキャビティー増幅吸収分光装置を用いて測定する。
そのため、これまで日本国内での開発実績のなかった広帯域・高分解能のキャビティー増幅吸収分光装置の開発を行ってきた。組み立てが完了した同装置を用い、そのセル内に酢酸メチルと酢酸エチルを導入して、そのCH伸縮振動の第三・第四・第五倍音の吸収スペクトルを測定した。これらは、近赤外帯から可視光領域に現れる振動遷移の禁制遷移である。一般に赤外で測定される基音と呼ばれる約3000波数に現れる許容遷移に比べて、倍音の遷移強度は第一倍音で1/10であり、以後量子数が大きくなるにつれ一桁ずつ降下する。大変微弱な遷移であるにも関わらず、これらの分子において高次倍音を初めて検出することができた。すなわち、これらの検出ができたことにより、高感度測定が可能であることが実証できた。高次倍音の解析には、CH結合が分子内の他の構造とは独立に振動をしているというローカルモードモデルを用いた。さらに、量子化学計算により基準振動数を求め、解析の初期パラメータに用いた。そして、実験データを用いて、各倍音の振動数を正確に説明するための基準振動数と非調和項を精密に決定することができた。よって、未測定のさらなる高次倍音も含めて一貫した振動数予想が可能になった。
以上の研究により、開発した広帯域キャビティー増幅吸収分光装置の感度の検証が実現し、今後放電生成した人工の星間物質の測定に応用が可能であることが明らかになった。
