Outline of Final Research Achievements

We synthesized micelles containing dye such as porphyrins for theranostics drug. Fluorchlorin (H2-TFPC)-encapsulating micelles showed high cancer diagnosis (PDD) and high cancer treatment (PDT) effects, and were found to be promising as cancer theranostics drugs.
In addition, subphthalocyanine-encapsulating micelles showed BNCT sensitivity in cell tests, although there was a problem that they showed a high PDT effect.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

がん医療の分野において、がん診断と治療が同時に行うことができるセラノスティクス薬剤の開発、ならびに難治性がんに対する治療法の開発は急務である。
本研究で開発した色素内包高分子ミセルは、がん診断能やがん治療能を有する色素や薬剤を簡単に内包できる水溶性化合物である。また、本研究で開発した高分子ミセルは、薬剤自身の毒性も止めることから、副作用の少ない様々な用途のがん医療薬をつくることが可能となると考えられる。
