Outline of Final Research Achievements

Heparanase has been proven to express significantly in drug-resistant cancer. To discover a new heparanase inhibitor, we have screened an inhibitor from libraries of Tochu-Kaso and natural product to find active compounds, whereas structure-activity relationship study gave new findings for stability and activity of Heparastatin, a natural heparanase inhibitor.

本研究で見出すヘパラナーゼ阻害剤は、微生物の代謝産物に由来する天然物やブロスライブラリーから探索する。天然物ヘパラナーゼ阻害剤をベースにした合成探索は、当研究所で開発した高度な認識構造を有する天然物阻害剤をベースにしており、創製される化合物は学術的に独自性が高い。また阻害剤の探索資源として、独自に開発してきた冬虫夏草類代謝産物ライブラリーは、がん、免疫などに薬効を示すと期待されており、抗がん薬のシーズを見つけるという社会的な要請に応えると考えられる。
