Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we aimed to develop novel environmentally benign catalytic reactions for the direct synthesis of a wide range of N-unprotected unnatural amino acids based on a new strategy using N-unprotected substrates. As a result, we succeeded in developing various catalytic nucleophilic addition reactions to N-unprotected ketimines and established a method for the direct synthesis of a wide range of N-unprotected unnatural amino acids. In addition, we have developed a new direct catalytic synthesis method for N-unprotected ketimines, which can be applied to large-scale synthesis and compatible with various functional groups.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究により、無保護のケチミンを用いることで、これまで常識であった保護基を使用せずに無保護のアミノ酸類が直接合成可能であることがわかった。これにより、廃棄物の副生が避けられない保護基の使用を回避して、より環境調和性の高い非天然アミノ酸類の合成法が実現可能であることを実証できた。また、無保護ケチミンの新たな触媒的直接合成法を開発することで、上記の無保護ケチミンを利用した無保護非天然アミノ酸類の合成手法の応用可能性を格段に向上できた。
