Outline of Final Research Achievements

Anti-inflammatory related proteins (Thioredoxin-like protein 1, Latexin) expression were incleased in exosomes derived human nerve cells on 4-methoxy amphetamine (4-MeO AP) abuse group compare to AP group. Moreover, phosphatidylcholines containing docosahexaenoic acids were reduced in exosomes derived human nerve cells on 4-MeO AP abuse group compare to AP group. In this study, we showed the difference inflammatory response induced by nerve cell-derived exosomes depends on the types of drugs.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究では覚せい剤に類似した構造を持つ薬物が、Exosomeを介して脳内炎症応答を惹起するメカニズムの一端を明らかにした。世界のExosome研究において類似の結果報告はないことから、独自性の高い研究であるといえる。また、危険ドラッグの蔓延は社会問題であり、より強力な法整備を行う上での重要なエビデンスとなるものであり、社会的意義は非常に高い。
