Outline of Final Research Achievements

Novel dermatitis model was established by the T cell specific expression of transcription factor GATA3 mutant. The mutant GATA3 induces Resident memory T cells (TRM), leading to the pathogenesis of dermatitis. Immune check point mechanism of MHC class II is important to suppress dermatitis induction by CD8+ T cells.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

免疫チェックポイントは、自己免疫性疾患、癌、感染症などの慢性炎症における免疫応答の抑制に重要であり、免疫チェックポイントを制御することは、これらの疾患の治療につながる。疾患モデルを樹立し、CD8+T細胞に対するMHC class IIによる抑制という新たな免疫チェックポイント機構を明らかにした。MHC class IIを標的とした免疫チェックポイント制御法の開発に有用である。
