Outline of Final Research Achievements

Compressive sensing is a novel mathematical method to find a solution from sparse sampling data. In this study, we focused on wide-coverage MR imaging, artifact suppression, vessel wall evaluation, and contrast agent reduction by using compressed sensing MRI. Clinical application of compressed sensing MRI was investigated, and the benefits of compressed sensing MRI was demonstrated.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

圧縮センシングMRIの臨床応用により、本来なら撮影時間のかかる広範囲撮影を比較的短時間で撮影することが可能になり、繰り返し画像再構成によるアーチファクト抑制も簡便に行うことが可能となった。圧縮センシングMRIの臨床応用の妥当性を証明できた。MRIの画質安定に貢献したことは学術的に意義があると考えられる。血管壁評価においては、血管壁と内腔のコントラストの向上、造影剤減量したMR撮影を可能にすることで造影剤コストや患者負担の軽減に繋がる可能性があり、社会的に意義があると考えられる。
