Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It has been well established that prenatal and postnatal nutritional status would give long-term effects on some physiological functions and risk of diseases. In this study, we showed that prenatal undernutrition alter the relationship between gonadal hormone and metabolic function in later life and that this alterations would exacerbate the effects of hyperandrogegism on metabolic functions. In addition, we established the experimental animal models which can be used for the evaluation of mechanisms. This study gives some important information in order to evaluate the pathophysiology of polycystic ovary syndrome.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
