Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this study was to obtain the casting pattern with superior adaptability by creating a new material for the casting pattern and evaluating process method. Unfortunately the new material was not created, but the commercial products having a clinical acceptable adaptation were recognized. Then reproducibility of edges of a wedge-shaped specimen and adaptability of a three-unit bridge were evaluated. Sharp edges could not be reproduced and unexpected polymerization though already polymerized parts was observed. These results suggested that not only the material for the pattern and also the process method were important to obtain the casting pattern with superior adaptability.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

液槽光重合法での鋳造用原型の精度及ぼす、形状や造形方法に影響は十分に明らかではなかった。本研究成果により、原型の辺縁部にはある程度の厚さが必要であること、造形方向によっては意図しないふくらみが生じることが明らかとなった。したがって鋳造用原型の設計に際し。辺縁部に十分は厚さを付与し、造形方法にも十分な配慮が必要である。このことは歯科補綴装置の原型製作時の注意として重要であり、社会的意義は大きい。
