| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to lay out a support framework by creating an ethical response manual for handling patients with dementia to [ensure patient dignity] and [prevent a deterioration of dementia], widely distributing said manual, and building a remote advice system in order to effectively utilize it. We clarified the ethical problems of nurses who practice emergency medicine on patients with dementia and were able to create a response manual based on the results. Although it was difficult to obtain opinions regarding the efficacy of this manual from specialists overseas, we have repeatedly conducted validations with domestic specialists and those in charge of education at clinical sites. We also set up a dedicated homepage and are continuously building a network among clinical nurses in addition to piloting/evaluating the remote advice system.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、全国の救急病院に従事する看護師を対象に認知症患者に関する倫理的問題を明確にし、その結果に基づき倫理的対応マニュアルを作成した。マニュアルは専門家間での検討を繰り返した。併せて、マニュアルを広く普及させ、効果的に活用ができるよう遠隔アドバイスシステムを構築しサポート体制を整えることができた点は認知症患者の尊厳と権利を守り、安心して治療・ケアが受けられる体制の基盤を作ることができたと評価し社会的意義がある。
