Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research developed a mechanics based a tooth movement prediction system to realize safe and effective orthodontic treatment. Firstly, a simple mechanical model was developed to predict tooth movement. Combining the simple mechanical model with an inverse analysis, we proposed a method to predict tooth movement under orthodontic forces. Furthermore, a finite element model was proposed to evaluate the orthodontic force quantitatively by the orthodontic wire .

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
