Outline of Final Research Achievements

In 2018, post-disaster recovery literature review and fieldwork activities in Leyte were conducted. Findings were presented at conferences in and outside of Japan in 2019. Due to the pandemic in 2020, survey was postponed and questionnaire was revised. In 2021, crises impact on communities literature review was done and focus on the role migrant returnees on the rebuilding process in Leyte and in 2022, the findings were presented in a conference. In August 2023, all members carried out fieldwork activities in Leyte and Manila for the first time. Interviews were conducted in resettlement areas, government agencies, and participated in a workshop about the recovery process 10 years since Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan held by local council and the University of the Philippines Tacloban researchers and students. In sum, research results were presented at eight conferences in Japan and international venues, three academic papers were published and two papers are in the pipeline.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
