| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to examine the Hachiman beliefs in the Middle Ages, I conducted analysis and research on the "Hachiman Gudokun,″ which is considered to be a basic source for this belief, in order to clarify its formation and development.
Regarding the "Hachiman Gudokun," I published a paper correcting the prevailing opinion of previous studies on the representative texts of the "Hachiman Gudokun″.
As a development of "Hachiman Gudokun," I published a picture scroll in the collection of Fujisaki Hachiman Shrine. And I presented a discussion of the Hachiman article in Nagato version of Heike Monogatari as a development of the Hachiman belief article.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
『八幡愚童訓』は、蒙古襲来における八幡神（八幡大菩薩）の神徳を主題としているため、日本文学だけでなく、歴史学や宗教文化史など学問分野を超えて、研究資料として利用されている。しかし、その『八幡愚童訓』自体の生成や展開などの基本的なテクスト研究は、これまで十分に行われてきたとは言い難い。そこで本研究では、今後の『八幡愚童訓』の基礎としてテクスト研究や、その展開を対象に研究した。
その成果として、『八幡愚童訓』の諸本研究史を再考した。さらに八幡関連の説話は、『八幡愚童訓』を基に論じられてきたが、『八幡愚童訓』に収斂しない八幡記事の有り方も指摘し、今後の八幡信仰研究に対する新たな研究視点を提示した。
