Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The goal of this research was to determine the depth and breadth of Henry Miller’s relationship with Japan. The research process included visiting numerous archive libraries, data-mining dozens of digital databases, and conducting personal interviews. This crucial methodology was incorporated into the collected data and the results have been published in several academic articles. This research reveals that Miller was closely connected with Japan from the early 1920s, until his death in 1980. Miller interacted with numerous Japanese artists and married Hoki Tokuda in 1967.
