In order to show what is needed to revitalize collective movable collateral, I have examined it from the perspective of collateral law history and its practice, with the cooperation of knowledge from economic and business history. The above results show, first, that the collateral system has adapted to the society and the system in the era because of changes triggered by crises of wars, economies, and disasters etc.; second, because the form of possession of collateral varies depending on whether the collateral object is worth possessing for the security interest holder, the mortgage form is more common in the modern age. Third, however, since possession by the grantor of security interests increases its moral risk, a third-party, for example a commercial warehouse, can play an important role in preventing such a situation. The above findings lead us to the conclusion that warehouse research is essential.
