Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study evaluated various experimental methods using virtual reality (VR) with a head-mounted display to prevent error behaviors. The preliminary results suggested that presenting multiple types of sensory information in a consistent manner can create a high sense of presence in the virtual world. Additionally, this sense of presence was maintained even from different perspectives. Furthermore, the study indicated that behavioral experiments not involving brain activity measurement can be conducted remotely, making this research method effective for COVID-19 prevention measures.

本研究は、VRを用いた多感覚提示による臨場感の維持方法を明らかにし、エラー行動防止の新たな実験手法を提案しています。これにより、認知科学や人間工学の分野での仮想現実技術を活用した行動研究の発展に寄与し、異なる視点でも臨場感が維持できることが確認され、VRの応用範囲が広がります。また、脳活動を計測しない行動実験を遠隔で実施可能とすることで、新型コロナウイルス感染対策としても有効な手法を提供します。これにより、研究活動の継続性が保たれ、教育やリモートトレーニングなど広範な分野での応用が期待され、社会全体の安全性と効率性向上に寄与するための知見を提供します。
