Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The aim of this project is to clarify the association between the pathology of bipolar disorder and light exposure in daily life. I found that light exposure is significantly associated with depressive and manic symptoms, sleep quality, and circadian rhythm in patients with bipolar disorder.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究結果により、日常生活の光曝露は双極性障害の病状(睡眠の質、うつ症状、躁症状、クロノタイプ、肥満、再発)と関連していることが明らかになった。双極性障害患者さんは、日中は可能な限り光を浴びて、夜間は真っ暗な部屋で眠ることが病状安定につながることが示唆された。
