Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Severe drug eruptions, mainly Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, are rare but can cause sequelae and be lethal. Until now, research on biomarkers for early diagnosis and prediction of severity has not been sufficient. In this study, galectin-7, a new biomarker candidate, was identified by a comprehensive search using proteome analysis. Galectin-7 has high disease specificity and is considered to be effective for early diagnosis.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
