Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We tried to clarify mechanism or risk factors of heatstroke encephalopathy by registry data, animal experimentation, and clinical research. (1)Registry data: In multivariate analysis, type of heatstroke, GCS, and platelets were independent predictors of poor neurological outcome. (2)Animal experimentation: In rat heatstroke model, CSF HMGB1 was higher than serum HMGB1. And CSF HMGB1 was significantly higher than control. (3)Clinical research: In heatstroke patient, serum HMGB1 did not predict neurological outcome.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
