Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to describe how people with chronic mental illness experience nursing care. A field survey in a psychiatric care ward and interviews with patients and nurses were conducted and analyzed from their perspectives. As a result, we found that the patients' lives consisted of various past experiences, and that they were living in their own way in the midst of reality and delusion. Nursing care for them consisted of a deep understanding of the patients, mutual understanding among the nurses, and reactions from the patients.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
