Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We investigated a shape generation algorithm and modeling system based on mathematics of origami for design support through shape interpretation. We conducted experiments on how many unique shapes could be included in a set of paper folded shapes automatically generated using only certain folding techniques. By applying congruent shape elimination, a method for designing folded shapes that is easy or difficult to estimate its folding steps is proposed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
