Outline of Final Research Achievements

We attempted to construct the virtuous circle that could be applied to long-term care fields, based on the the service profit chain (SPC) proposed in business administration, with the aim of improving the well-being of both long-term care service users and care workers by enabling care workers to work lively and happily. We interviewed managers of nursing care service providers about the applicability of the SPC and the key elements necessary for those providers. We developed and implemented a training program based on positive psychology for care workers to enhance their sense of well-being and confirmed the increase in the sense of well-being of care workers after our training. We also explored the factors related to the well-being of care workers by using a mixed-method approach based on questionnaires and interviews and construct the virtuous circle that could be applied to the long-term care fields depending on the results of these surveys and analyses.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
