| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Although apathy is known to indicate higher risk of dementia incidence in the setting of memory clinic, its predictive value in community dwellers remains to be elucidated. The present study suggests that apathy symptoms are informative to predict dementia in sub groups of community dwellers, including younger olds and those with mildly declined performance in cognitive tests.

物忘れ外来受診者の中では意欲低下者の予後が悪いことが知られているが、一般高齢者における意欲低下所見の意義は確立されていない。本研究は、一般高齢者の中の特定の集団において、意欲低下が認知症リスクを高めることを示した。
