競合秩序系の電気伝導に現れる臨界性のテラスペクトロスコピーによる研究

Research Abstract

本研究は, 異なる秩序が拮抗する競合秩序系の境界付近での高周波電気伝導を調べることにより, 各秩序形成の本質を理解することを目的とした。特に銅酸化物高温超伝導体の超伝導・反強磁性境界周辺でのTHzまでの複素電気伝導度測定を行い, 超伝導ゆらぎがどのように消えてゆくか, あるいは生き残るのか, 常伝導状態に理論から存在が示唆されている特徴的な異常な電荷励起があるのか否か, それらは互いにどう関連するかなどについて明らかにし, 高温超伝導発現機構の理解の本質に迫る情報を提供することを目的とした。また, 本研究では, 手法的にも, 競合秩序相の相境界での電荷励起の直接測定を行うことによって, 競合秩序の物理学, とくに銅酸化物高温超伝導体の電子相図の理解の最も本質的な部分に決着をつけることを目的とした。本年度は以下のような結果が得られた。
(1)引き続き測定用薄膜試料の準備を行った。(塚田(いずれも研究協力者))
(2)超伝導・反強磁性相境界の試料でのTHz領域での電気伝導度測定(前田, 北野, 中村) : 不足ドープLa2-xSrxCuO4(x=0.07,0.12)の試料において, ゼコ磁場下で, 温度, 周波数の関数として複素電気伝導度をTHz領域で測定した。その結果, 2個の異なる特徴的な温度があることがわかった。第一は, 超流体密度が顕著になり始める温度であり, これは, ゼロ抵抗が実現する温度の高々2倍であることがわかった。この結果は昨年までに我々が得ていたマイクロ波領域での測定の結果と完全に整合するものであり, さらには,ネルンスト効果が超伝導の始まりを示唆しているという解釈に対して疑問を投げかけるものである。第二の温度は, ドルーデ型の伝導度に現れる緩和時間が延び始める温度であり, ちょうど角度分解光電子分光などで提唱されている擬ギャップが開きはじめる温度とよく一致することがわかった。このことから, 擬ギャップの起源としては超伝導の揺らぎではなく, 反強磁性のペアができることによるものであることが指示される。そして, 銅酸化物高温超伝導体を記述する適切な理論とは, これらの側面を無理なく説明するものでなければならない。
(3)これらの技術が応用できる系として, 興味深い物質(RbOs2O6)のミリ波でのTHz領域以下の複素電気伝導度も測定した。低温になるほど準粒子の緩和時間が増大するという結果が得られたが, ラットリング運動が電気伝導に寄与しているといるような兆候は見つからなかった。今後, K塩, Rb塩などで同様の測定を試みる。
