Research Abstract

1. 研究の目的
光ネットワークでは、各光ノード間の伝送路分散は区間毎に補償されていることが基本である。しかしながら、季節的な温度変化、信号光の波長操作に伴う伝送路分散スロープの影響等から残留分散が変化し、光信号の品質が劣化する可能性がある。このような背景の下、本研究では、アレイ導波路回折格子(AWG)を利用したワンチップ集積型可変分散補償回路の実現と、マルチホップ型再構成可能光ネットワークにおける分散補償制御方法について検討することを目的としている。
2. 分散補償回路高性能化設計
レンズ型位相シフタ部の損失を低減するために、レンズ分割数、レンズ配置の最適化設計を実施した。また、屈折率が石英よりも大きいシリコーン樹脂と石英よりも小さいシリコーン樹脂を利用し、分散中央値を0として、可変範囲を広げる設計を明らかにした。分散補償回路の一部であるアレイ導波路回折格子の設計を見直して、損失の低減と分散可変領域の拡大を同時に満たす設計を明らかにした。
3. 分散補償モジュールの試作
設計情報に基づいて、中心波長制御用のペルチェ素子と分散制御用ヒータを内蔵する分散補償モジュールを試作した。本モジュールは、分散値を約40ps/nm〜410ps/nmまで制御可能であり、高速光信号の分散補償に適用し、ペナルティ1dB以下での波形再生に成功した。
