Research Abstract

Various nano-structures, including nano-fiber, nano-tube, and nano-cage have been designed and synthesized from peptides consisting 7-30 amino acid residues. New functions such as metal-binding, structural transition, antimicrobial activity, and cell-adhesion activity have also been added to produce novel nanomaterials. Since these biodegradable materials can be formed at high yield without adding extra energy nor producing harmful byproducts, we can call them "environment-conscious".
