アルミニウム床版による軽量橋を実現するために, アルミニウム合金板摩擦接合継手の疲労特性の究明, アルミニウム床版の無収縮モルタル注入孔の疲労強度の究明, 地覆のアルミニウム床版への取り付け構造の開発, トラックタイヤ載荷によってアルミニウム床版に生じる板曲げ応力の究明, アルミニウム床版と鋼主桁との合成作用の究明を行なった.
