Research Abstract

5族金属(バナジウム、ニオブ、タンタル)を基板、パラジウム(Pd)の極薄膜を酸化に対する保護層とする複合材料水素透過膜は、従来のPd合金透過膜に比べ貴金属であるPdの使用量の大幅削減と、より優れた水素透過性能を同時に実現できる。しかし、高温ではPdと5族金属の間で相互拡散や反応が生じるため水素製造装置への応用は困難であった。本研究では4族金属窒化物であり高温での化学的安定性に優れる窒化ハフニウムが水素透過能を有することを発見すると共に、これをPd保護層とタンタル基板との間に反応防止中間層として挿入することにより複合材料水素透過膜の高温安定性を著しく向上させることに成功した。
