Research Abstract

必須微量元素セレンは、同族の硫黄と厳密に区別され、特定のタンパク質の特定の位置にセレノシステイン残基の形で取り込まれ、数々の重要な生理的役割を果たす。本研究では、セレン代謝とセレンタンパク質の生合成に関与するタンパク質・酵素群が成し遂げる厳密にセレン特異的な化学変換とその際のタンパク質やRNAの構造機能の詳細に明らかにした。
