Research Abstract

細胞の極性は,しばしばmRNAの細胞質内局在によって確立される。ショウジョウバエ卵の生殖質形成過程は,RNA局在研究の理想的モデル系の1つである。生殖質因子の一つであるVasaとGFPとの融合蛋白質を発現する系統を用いて,生殖質形成が異常となる突然変異体を多数単離した。これらの内の1つは,エンドソーム蛋白質であるRabenosyn-5の突然変異であった。詳細な解析により, Rabenosyn-5等のエンドソーム蛋白質が, Fアクチンの再編成を通して,生殖質因子の卵皮層への係留に関与していることを明らかにした。
