Research Abstract |
白血病は、未熟な血液細胞がさまざまな遺伝子変異により腫瘍化して発症する造血器悪性疾患である。白血病の病態は白血病幹細胞(leukemic stem cell ; LSC)と呼ばれるごく少数の細胞により維持されているが、その生成には血球特異的転写因子が深く関与している。我々は、MLL-ENL, AML1-ETOなど様々な白血病原因遺伝子についてLSC生成に関与する転写因子を解析し、PU.1と呼ばれる転写因子がLSCの生成/維持に極めて重要であることを明らかにした。
