Research Abstract |
We have developed the new treatment for repair of a segmental nerve gap that simultaneous direct lengthening of both stumps. To determine the applicability of this method to humans, we carried out an experiment on primates. Good results have obtained the primate experiment, we have applied this method clinical setting. This method does not require the sacrifice of other healthy nerves and nerve regeneration is superior to the present method. We will be able to repair peripheral nerve gap not by nerve grafting but by lengthening the injured nerve itself.
