| Research Abstract |
網膜に発現するグルタミン酸輸送体の中で、主にMuller グリアに発現するGLAST、あるいは網膜神経節細胞に発現するEAAC1の欠損マウスが、世界初の正常眼圧緑内障モデル動物になり得ることを報告した。発症メカニズムとしてはグルタミン酸毒性に加えて酸化ストレスの関与が考えられた。さらにinterleukin-1がMuller 細胞によるグルタミン酸の取り込み量を増大させ得ることを見出した。
