Research Abstract

マダガスカル南部において地質調査を行い、超高温変成岩が広範囲に分布すること明らかにした。超高温変成岩石類の岩石学的解析とジルコンU-Pb同位体年代分析を行い、変成温度圧力条件と変成年代についての新しい知見を得た。約5.5億年前の東ゴンドワナ大陸と西ゴンドワナ大陸の大陸衝突と、それに伴うマントルからの熱移送により、地殻下部において1000℃を超す条件下で超高温変成岩が形成されたことをマダガスカル南部で初めて明らかにした。
