Research Abstract |
新興再興感染症が大陸から東シナ海(氷河期に陸橋)を経て日本列島へ拡散した経路につき、昨今の渡航障害をくぐって現地調査に努めた。その結果、東シナ海という場は、長い地史の中で、北、東、南アジア由来のリケッチア症、ライム病、バベシア症など多様な感染環が離合集散を繰り返した十字路と分かった。今日、島嶼ごとの環境衰微に伴い感染環の消退も多いが、日本列島内へ到達した分では遺伝的多様性も示し維持されている。
