Research Abstract

ショウジョウバエの幼虫脳をモデルとして、嗅覚一次中枢と嗅覚二次中枢の一つであるキノコ体カリックスの神経結合様式を投射神経細胞の単一クローンを誘導する手法で解析し、一次中枢の感覚地図を作成し、二次中枢においてその対応関係を明らかにした。幼虫脳のカルシウムイメージングの系を確立して匂い刺激応答をカリックスで解析し、解剖学的な解析結果の検証を行った。この研究結果により始めて単一細胞レベルで高次脳において匂い地図を作成した。
