| Research Abstract |
本研究は、発生初期胚脳幹の聴覚・平衡反射神経回路網に焦点をあて、神経電位活動の光学的イメージング法を用いてその機能構築過程を解析したものである。孵卵5.5-8日の鶏胚から第VIII脳神経を付けたままの標本を作製し、膜電位感受性色素で染色して、聴神経刺激に対する光学応答を記録した。解剖学的研究との比較から、脳幹内での応答領域と神経核の対応を検討した。また、各神経核におけるシナプス伝達の発現時期は、これまで考えられていた発生段階よりもかなり早いことが明らかとなった。
