Research Abstract

新規考案した超音波エコー符号付け方法のアルゴリズムを見直し, 高い距離分解能を維持したエコー像を実現可能とした. 開発した方法を用いて, ヒト頚動脈のイメージングを行った. 健常者の頚動脈壁が、血液を基準として一様なエコー符号を示すことが確かめられたのに対し, プラークの存在が疑われる被検者の頚動脈壁については, エコー符号が一様ではなかった. このことは, 本研究の方法が, 音響インピーダンスを反映した符号をもつ超音波エコー法として信頼し得るものであることを示唆すると同時に, 頚動脈内壁の健康状態を早期診断する手法としての可能性を示している.
