| Research Abstract |
雪の融点近くで、短いモデル・スキー(長さ20cm)を用い、遅い滑走速度(0.001~1m/s)における摩擦係数を斜面滑走法およびトライボメータ法を用いておこなった。その結果、摩擦係数(μ)が、滑走速度と雪の温度に依存することが解った。そして、-10℃程度の低温で、速度が極めて遅い場合に最も小さなμ値を示す事を見出した。今回の実験結果で最も注目すべき点は、モデル・スキーの低速度における摩擦係数の温度依存性が、高速度で滑る実際のスキーの温度依存性と反対になった点である。また、モデル・スキーの摩擦係数に荷重依存性が測定されなかったことから、低温、低速度における小さな摩擦係数は摩擦融解による解け水の潤滑摩擦では無いと考えられる。すなわち、低温では凝着力が小さくなるために良く滑ると考えられる。
