Research Abstract

本研究は今まで構造研究が着手されていなかった新しいレクチンファミリーに属する海藻レクチンに属するいくつかのレクチンに着目して構造学的研究を進めたものである。このレクチンは多くのレクチンと異なり単糖には結合せず高マンノースのみに結合する特異的な性質を持ち,また近年,強力な抗HIVウィルス作用を持つことがわかってきた。本研究ではその分子構造をX線解析による詳細に解明し,この新規レクチンファミリーの構造的基盤を構築した
