| Research Abstract |
With the overview of the recent Faulkner criticism, I suggest the combination of postcolonialism and postmodernism to analyze and evaluate comprehensively Faulkner's and Nakagami's search for the transnational. To confirm the effectiveness of this proposal, the collections of short stories by Nakagami and Sandra Cisneros are examined and compared. The prospective result has led to the further exploration of the novels by Faulkner and Nakagami, to determine their "glocal" points of view and their narrative techniques which allow them to transcend the patriarchal and the national boundary.
