| Research Abstract |
英語・ドイツ語等の数量詞言語と日本語等の類別詞言語の名詞表現を比較対照することによって, 両言語タイプの数量表現の形式的・意味的特徴を導き, その共通性と相違を分析し,言語外にある対象物の数と量を人間が認知する際に表現形式が認知過程にどのように影響するのかを分析した。両言語タイプでは可算名詞・複数形の有無など相違が顕著であるように見えるが, 実際には数(単数・複数)が等しく関与すること, 可算・不可算名詞の違いは日本語でも観察されること, 対象の性質の認識が数量表現と数量認知に関連することを明らかにした。
