| Research Abstract |
接続詞や前置詞といった接続表現の中には, 動詞から文法化したと考えられるものがある.その文法的要素としての地位は比較的柔軟なもので, 今も動詞としての性格を強く留めているものもあれば, 話者の心的態度を伝達するための手段としての新たな用法を確立しつつあるものもある.発達過程において深い関係のある英語とフランス語をとり上げて, 動詞由来の接続表現が今日どのように用いられているのかを実証的な手段で明らかにした.
